Understanding CarPlay

What Is Apple CarPlay?

Apple CarPlay lets you access and use compatible iPhone features directly through your Audi MMI interface. You can use navigation, make calls, send and receive messages, listen to music, and access select compatible apps while reducing the need to handle your phone while driving.

Can I Connect My Phone to My Audi?

At Audi, Apple CarPlay is part of the Audi Smartphone Interface, which integrates select features from an iPhone or Android phone directly into the MMI system.

In an Audi, the MMI multimedia system lets you control key iPhone or iPad features using the MMI control dial, your multifunction steering wheel, or voice commands. Siri can become your virtual co-pilot, allowing you to perform a wide range of tasks while keeping your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

The update process varies depending on the model year and generation of the MMI system installed in your Audi. Apple CarPlay Not Working in Your Audi?

Check these first

If CarPlay is no longer connecting, start by making sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled, Siri is turned on, and your iPhone still appears among the connected devices in the MMI system. You can then remove the device from both the MMI system and your iPhone before pairing them again. If the issue continues, your system may need an update or inspection.
